Parents Day 2024

On 5th March, all the staff and students of class from III and above along with the staff members gathered in Loter Hall at 9:15 a.m. to observed Parents’ Day. The day is celebrated by all the T.C.V. Schools as Parents’ Day as a mark of love and respect in the memory of late Mrs. Dickyi Tsering la the beloved mother of His Holiness the XIV the Dalai Lama of Tibet.
At 9:20 the school welcomed the chief guest and guest of honour Mr. Tsering Dorjee, president of local Tibetan Assembly Dege Division Bir/ Chauntra and Ms. Shreya Thakar Alokit. The celebration began with the singing of Tibetan and Indian National anthem accompanied by the school band. The School Lhamo Tsokpa presented an auspicious Greeting Dance to welcome every one gathered in the hall.
This followed by the lamp lighting to the portrait of Gyal- Yum-Chenmo ( the great mother of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama) by the Chief Guest and the guest of honour. Subsequently there was an offering of scarf to the Portrait of the Gyal- Yum Chemo by the School Management Committee, the staff members and the school Captains and the prefects.
The School Principal, Mr. Passang Tsering la gracefully gave a welcome and introductory speech about Gyal Yum Chemo la; the great mother who showed a touching evidence of her compassion and kindness to the Tibetans children in India. Afterwards Tibetan teacher Mr. Sichoe Tsephel la delivered the DOE’s Parent’s Day Message.
The Chief guest for the day Mr. Tsering Dorjee addressed the gathering where he highlighted on feeling grateful to be in the school and be part of this special occasion. He expressed his special connection with this school and he wished for the prosperity of the school.
The program culminated with the vote of thanks by the Headmistress Mrs. Tenzin Dolma La.
