PARENTS’ DAY

The Tibetan Children’s Village School, Chauntra celebrated 5th March 2023 to honor the birth anniversary of the great mother of His Holiness The XIV Dalai lama Gyalyum Chenmo at 9 am in the school hall. On this occasion, the chief guest was Ama Inge  Elselt and her team from Austria.

The ceremony began with the lighting of a butter lamp to the portrait of Gyal Yum Chenmo followed by the offering of a scarf by the chief guest, her Team, and the School Principal to the same. After that, Mrs. Sonam Tsomo read the Parents’ Day message by the Education minister of the Central Tibetan Administration reminding all the parents to spend more time with their children to understand them better and the role of parents in assisting the use of gadgets in children.

After that the school Principal had given an introductory speech about Gyal Yum Chenmo, her biggest contribution in giving birth to His Holiness The XIV Dalai Lama, the model of peace in today’s world, and spoke volumes about the gratitude that children owe to their parents. He also reminded teachers and home mothers about their responsibilities of looking after school children as their own. It was followed by Ama Inge presenting mementos to the school. Everyone was glad to witness some traditional songs and Yak dance performed by our children. Thereafter a heart-touching speech by Ama Inge led the whole audience into an emotional moment. She further requested the children to do their best in their studies and she agreed to continue her support for the good cause.

The celebration ended with a vote of thanks by the Headmistress, Mrs. Tenzin Dolma extending our deepest gratitude to Ama Inge and her team. We are truly inspired by their generosity, hard work, and dedication to our cause, and cannot thank them enough for having faith in what we do and investing in our mission.
