On September 5th, Staff Day was celebrated to honor the dedication and hard work of educators and staff members at TCV Schools in Himachal Pradesh. However, this year’s celebration was marked by simplicity and reverence due to recent natural disasters in the state of Himachal.
In the morning of September 5th, students and staff members gathered in the school hall at 9 AM to celebrate Staff Day. The atmosphere was a mix of anticipation and excitement as they came together to show their appreciation for their educators and staff. The school hall was beautifully decorated with flowers and balloons, creating a serene yet uplifting ambiance.
The celebration began with the lighting of a traditional butter lamp, symbolizing respect and honor for the great personality, Dr. Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan. The representative of the student Master Tundup Paljor, welcomed everyone, highlighting the vital role that teachers and staff play in shaping students’ lives. Following his speech, Mrs. Karma Yangkey expressed heartfelt gratitude to the students for their arrangements and humorously reflected on the comedy show.
The day’s activities included a special lunch, volleyball matches, and a friendly football match between the staff and class 10 students, fostering a sense of camaraderie and compassion that defines the Tibetan Children’s Village educational community. At 7:30 PM, a delicious dinner was served by the students, and a video presentation by ex-students was screened in the hall, lasting for almost half an hour.
Despite the absence of grand celebrations, the day was filled with joy and a sense of togetherness as the school community came together to honor their educators and staff members.
