Athletics Meet

T.C.V. Chauntra’s  16th Inter House Athletics Meet  was held on 15th October, 2022.  It was dedicated to Ama Jetsun Pema La for her unconditional love and care for the children of  TCV Schools. Amala had worked relentlessly and tirelessly and spent most of her life in nurturing the children who were orphans, semi orphans and destitutes. The school had the privilege to invite Mr. Jigme Namgyal La, the Deputy Secretary of Education Department, CTA Dharamsala as its chief guest and the other distinguished dignitaries as the special guests for this occasion.

The day started with the house wise march past. It was led by Master Tenzin Tendhar La with the Tibetan national flag and Master Chenga Dawa La with the Indian national flag followed by the flag of T.C.V. School Chauntra carried by Miss Tenzin Yangdon La and Miss Kunga Dechen La. The flag carries the motto of TCV Schools, ‘Others Before Self.’ Then there was the march past of the school captains and prefects . The Meet flag was carried by the eight best athletes from all the four houses, 18 flags symbolizing the 18th founding anniversary were carried by 18 students. The school band march past was led by Master Lobsang Yeshi. Then it was followed by Nyatri, Songtsen, Trisong and Triral House march past.

A Tibetan song titled ‘Thank You Amala, Thank You TCV’ was sung by the students and a team of musicians under the guidance of Mr. Tenzin Thori La. This song was actually sung by TCV Alumni Association, New York and New Jersey. Next, the school captains Master Tsering Wangchuk La and Miss Kunchok Dolma La took the oath of the 16th Inter House Athletics Meet both in Tibetan and English. Then the school Principal Mr. Passang Tsering La addressed the gatherings. Later, the honourable chief guest declared the Inter House Athletics Meet open. After that the march past retreated from the arena.

The march past was followed by the Inter House Athletics Meet. The athletes showed themselves on the ground and performed their feats with full energy and enthusiasm. The audience cheered the athletes to inspire and motivate them to perform their best. The relay race promoted team spirits and team work. But at the end of every game there is a winner and a loser. And this year Trisong House bagged the 16th Inter House Athletics 2022 championship award. The event ended successfully with the teamwork and collaboration of all the staff and the students.
