Celebration of the 80th Indian Independence Day at TCV School, Chauntra
TCV School, Chauntra, celebrated the 80th Indian Independence Day on 15 August with great patriotic fervor, dignity, and enthusiasm. The program brought together students, staff members, and distinguished guests to commemorate this significant national occasion.
The celebration carried a particularly meaningful purpose for the school community: to express our profound gratitude to the Government and people of India for their steadfast generosity, hospitality, and unwavering support to the Tibetan people over the years. At the same time, the occasion provided an opportunity to nurture among our students a deep sense of love, respect, gratitude, and loyalty towards both India and Tibet, and to help them appreciate the enduring bonds of friendship and mutual respect between the two peoples.
The program commenced at 9:40 a.m. with the gathering of students and staff in the school auditorium, followed by the formal welcome of the Chief Guest, Shri Ram Chandra Pradhan, Chauntra, and other esteemed dignitaries. The ceremonial proceedings began with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial butter lamp. The gathering then joined in the singing of the national anthems, setting a solemn and patriotic tone for the celebration.
The welcome and introductory address was delivered by Ms. Rishika Bhatt, who formally welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, staff, and students. This was followed by a vibrant and thoughtfully curated series of patriotic presentations, including poems, songs, dances, speeches, and a drama. The performances reflected the students’ artistic talents, creativity, and patriotic spirit, while highlighting values of unity, freedom, responsibility, gratitude, and national pride.
The overall program, particularly the preparation and presentation of the students’ performances, was guided and coordinated by the school’s Hindi teacher, Mrs. Rekha Devi. Her dedicated guidance and efforts contributed significantly to the smooth execution and overall quality of the cultural presentations.
