TCV School Chauntra has commemorated the 67th anniversary of the 1959 Tibetan National Uprising, observed annually on 10 March. This important day recalls the historic moment in 1959 when the Tibetan people rose in Tibet to defend their freedom, rights, and national identity. It is a day dedicated to remembering and honoring the great sacrifices made by our forefathers for the Tibetan cause. At the same time, it reminds the younger generation of the dreams and expectations placed upon them and encourages them to take responsibility in serving the Tibetan community and the nation.
On this occasion, TCV School Chauntra participated in commemorative programs held outside the school premises. Students of Class 10, along with their class teachers and staff members, joined a larger gathering organized by nearby Tibetan settlements and institutions in Chauntra and Tashijong, together with representatives from different monasteries.
The program featured awareness campaigns and peaceful rallies through the nearby Indian markets. Participants expressed unity and support while continuing to uphold the spirit of the Tibetan struggle.
The event served as a reminder of the strength and perseverance of the Tibetan people and reaffirmed the collective dedication to protecting Tibetan identity, culture, and the continued pursuit of justice and freedom.
