An awareness program to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was successfully conducted at TCV School, Chauntra on 26th June 2025. The program was organised by the School Health Committee in collaboration with Kunphen – Tibetan Rehabilitation Centre, Dharamsala.
The session was attended by students of Classes VI to X with the aim of educating young minds about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, drug-free life. The resource persons for the day were Ms. Chime, a professional counsellor, along with Mr. Karma Tenzin and Mr. Tenzin Dhondup from Kunphen.
The speakers sensitively addressed the issue by sharing real-life experiences, the psychological and physical consequences of substance abuse, and ways to resist peer pressure. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students engaged actively and cleared their doubts. The program served as a timely reminder for students to make informed, positive choices in life.
