Cultivating Hearts and Minds: Compassion and Knowledge

“We can only transform humanity and create a happier more compassionate world through education."
- Dalai Lama

WE DID IT !

Mr Pempa Tsering
(Sikyong)

The main responsibility of the Kashag is to seek relief from the critical challenges being faced by endangered Tibet and suffering of the Tibetan people. We shall resolutely tread the path of Middle Way espoused by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, that commands high degree of support by general population in and outside Tibet and unanimously approved by the Tibetan Parliament in Exile. Based on which, we will reach out to the Chinese government to find a mutually beneficial, negotiated, non-violent solution to the Sino-Tibet conflict.

 14th Dalai Lama
(Spiritual leader of Tibet)

“Modern education is premised strongly on materialistic values. It is vital that when educating our children’s brains that we do not neglect to educate their hearts, a key element of which has to be the nurturing of our compassionate nature. Because the existing education system is oriented towards materialistic goals we need to pay special attention to inner values such as tolerance, forgiveness, love and compassion”

Ama Jetsun Pema
(Former TCV President)

“Though much has been achieved, we still have a long way to go in fulfilling our aims and objectives of providing the children under our care with the necessary resources and the opportunities to develop their abilities to the fullest. As His Holiness said, the future direction of our programme will be in the field of further education in specialized studies to meet the human resource needs of the community in exile and more importantly when the time comes for us to go back to our homeland.”
